Code Of Conduct
• Once the selection process in over, the final list of film entries and the selected award winning films will be listed in the website.
• Any wrong or incorrect information given in the entry form may lead to the removal & disqualification of the film from the competition.
• Pornographic or graphic sexual content, hateful content [including racism, sexism or against any gender], content which incites violence or harm to any other living being or creature or any other knowingly offensive, obscene r inappropriate content will lead to immediate disqualification of the film competition.
• The film content should not intentionally or unknowingly incite intimidation, harassment or bullying of any person/profession/animal or any other living or dead. This will lead to immediate disqualification of the film entry.
• Entry materials cannot be returned and the festival authorities have the right to retain copies of each film and be screened for education, promotion, awareness and non-commercial purposes.
• The applicant of the film that has been selected as a finalist by 8MM Media team, hereby agrees to the rights, requests and grants to us without reservations, conditions or qualifications.
• The applicant is legally responsible for the submission of the film within the deadline, viable content and entry form completion. 8MM Media nor the organisers of the Short FilmContest cannot be responsible for above stated responsibilities and cannot be subjected to any sort of harressment or threatened with any claims or litigation.
• The competition is not open to employees, directors, agents, representatives, affiliated or subsidiary companies, advertising or marketing agencies, legal and financial advisors or their immediate family members.
Submission & Screening Requirements
• Participation in this competition is open to individuals who are as of Dec 2018 atleast 18yrs of age, residing in any part of the world.
• 8MM Media can only accept entries from registered members submitted through a valid entry forms [by ‘Valid’ we mean all the necessary information is filled in the form].
• The competition is open solely to original, newly created entries or original previously created entries which have not been distributed to the public [including without limitation display on You Tube or posting elsewhere on the internet or theatrical distribution, television broadcast or any other public dissemination]
• The applicant has to get the necessary clearance for any copyrighted material that may have been used in their films. 8MM Media, its employees , partners or agents are not responsible for any of the copyrighted material that may have been used in any of the film entries and they cannot be subjected to violation / infringement of copyright of any right arising out of material use in the film entry submissions.
• All the films must have English subtitles.
• Festival organisers reserve the right to display posters / synopsis / film clips sent for 8MM Media Short Film Contest and can be shown on Indian/International TV/ Local network/ Social Media platforms for promotional and publicity purposes.
Communication Format
• The festival organisers reserve the rights to change, cancel or reschedule the dates, venues, awards & categories at any given time. The participants will be informed through emails but the organisers cannot be held responsible for any distressed caused by the above.
• Mode of communication is only through EMAIL. Your emails will be answered within 2 days of receiving them. Under no circumstances will any sort of phone calls regarding the short-listing or winners list be entertained.
• Code of conduct will have to be strictly followed by the entrants and any sort of misbehaviour or rude attitude will lead to disqualification and legal actions against them.
• Films once entered in the fest cannot be withdrawn. Participation in the ‘Short Film Contest’ by 8MM Media implies acceptance of all these rules.
• Under NO circumstances, the authorities of 8MM Media or the short film contest organisers film will entertain or be answerable to anyone else apart from the applicant.
• All shortlisted and award winning film entries will be notified of their status through email. If your contact information has changed between entry submission and our notification date, please update us with your information through email.
• Each entrant accepts the conditions stated in these official rules, agrees to be bound by the decisions of the competition entities, without prejudice of any claim that could be filed before the courts, warranted that she/he is eligible to participate in this competition and agrees, except to the extent that any personal injury or death is caused by the released party’s negligence and the maximum extent permitted by applicable law that the released parties shall not be responsible for any claims, losses, liability and damages of any kind.
• Also against any of them incurred, sustained or arising in connection with the use, acceptance or misuse of any entry material or while preparing for participating in and/or travelling to or from any competition related activity including without limitation, any injury, damage, death, loss or accident to person or property or from the respective entrant’s breach of any agreement or warranty associated with the competition including these official competition rules.
•Any attempt to deliberately damage the competition website or undermine the legitimate operation of the competition is a violation of the law and should such an attempt be made, the competition entities and each of their licenses reserve the right to seek damages or other remedies from such person[s] responsible for any such attempt to the fullest extent permitted by law
